Stealth Camper Project
As the wood paneling was being installed, some creativity was required. Since the builder is too tall to lay across the interior of the stealth van, a space was left in the paneling to allow an extra inch or two of space. The bed will be positioned in that space and allow just enough length for him to stretch out fully while he is sleeping.
You can really see the amount of space inside this van, although it will fill up fast once you ad a counter, bathroom, table, bed and more!
Here’s a shot of the framework that was built around the air conditioner and also shows the calorifier mounted to the wall. Under the calorifier is where the water pump, valves for the heating system, and other water related things will be housed. A tray was built to house any leaks that may occur rather than have it leak into the living area. The rear bed has 2 main supports, and the mattress support will be slotted and vented so there is no need to prop up the mattress to breathe. Frame size will fit a standard 3/4 double mattress.
Next was the pull out sofae bed – again slatted, but this time slats interlock to allow the couch to be pulled out wide enough to be a bed as well!
